McKeesport Testing Site Opens to Public Tuesday, September 15 at 10 AM
Appointments Can Be Scheduled Online, by Phone Beginning Monday at 8:30 AM

PITTSBURGH – The McKeesport COVID-19 drive-up testing site will begin testing of the public on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 10 AM. The free COVID-19 testing, for all ages, is made possible by CARES Act funding that has been allocated directly to the county with support from the state. The drive-up site is located at 455 Industry Road in McKeesport and testing is by appointment only.

Individuals eligible for testing at the McKeesport site must meet one of the following criteria:
• Have symptoms of COVID-19;
• Have been in contact with someone that has COVID-19;
• Work in a nursing home or long-term care facility;
• Are a critical infrastructure worker, health care worker, or first responder;
• Are a high-risk patient and have recently attended a gathering of 10 or more people; or
• Live in a shelter or single room occupancy.
Appointments are required and will be accepted starting Monday, September 14. Due to the limited test kits available, only 250 appointments are open each day. The site will conduct testing daily, Monday through Friday, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Residents can register online (an email address is required) or by calling 412-209-2262, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, to schedule a next-day appointment.

Testing is prioritized for persons who work or live in Allegheny County. Any person age 3 or older can be tested provided that they meet the criteria listed above. Children between the age of 3 and 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to be tested. Instructions will be given at the site on how to administer your own test. You do not need insurance to be tested and there is no cost associated with testing. Test results will be available, on average, with 48 hours after testing.

Those who are unable to drive to the site, or cannot self-administer a test, can contact the COVID-19 Hotline at 1-888-856-2774 for additional options and resources. Other frequently asked questions and information are available on the McKeesport Testing site page of the county’s COVID-19 website:
